What’s with Google Photos? Anyone know how to create an animation from a burst set?

I’ve had them created without my intervention and I can’t seem to find an option to do it myself.

It is quite easy! You just have to go to the google photos app (or webpage), press assistant, animation and choose the photos you want! =D

Doesn’t work because a burst comes up as one item. Google Photos requires 3 items to create an animation

Hum…. I don’t understand. Can you show me screenshots? What phone are you using? Lots of phones show bursts as one item in the gallery but in reality they are multiple files and you can see them in the file manager app.

Pixel XL

Go to Google Photos and then the assistant tab then try to create an animation with a burst set. You’ll see what I mean when it is requiring 3 not 1 images.

If your burst is comprised of more than 50 photos, you cannot create an animation. Not sure when they made this change, but it threw me for a loop as well.

Ok, there’s an answer that makes some sense.

I want to say you just select the burst picture set and press the + icon and choose Animation. Most times Google will automatically create the GIF itself using the Assistant page.
